Our accredited programme of photography and digital media courses are held at our facilities in Chapter, Canton. Classes are artist-led and take place in small groups in an enjoyable informal atmosphere. Students are encouraged to develop their ideas through a series of practical projects and illustrated talks exploring the impact of photography and digital media in a cultural and historical context. All of our courses run over ten weeks and they take place three times a year starting in September, January and April. Classes take place over ten regular weekly evening sessions or over five fortnightly weekend or weekday daytime sessions. Students who wish to submit their work for assessment then have a few weeks after the course has finished to complete project work for submissions.
Enrolment normally opens four to six weeks prior to courses starting. Ffotogallery courses are run in association with Cardiff Open Art School, Cardiff Metropolitan University. Students who submit their work at the end of each course and achieve a pass will receive 20 HE credits. Students who have successfully completed three courses and obtained 60 HE credits can now apply for a Continuing Education Award: Photography and Digital Media (60 HE credits) issued by Cardiff Metropolitan University. Students who have successfully completed six courses and obtained 120 HE credits can now apply for a Continuing Education Award: Photography and Digital Media (120 HE credits) issued by Cardiff Metropolitan University.
We have gift vouchers available in multiples of £20 or £50 which can be accepted as part or full payment towards a course. We will conveniently post these out to you to give as a unique present for friends or family (please note that they will still need to get in touch with us to enrol).
Ffotogallery’s teaching spaces are situated on the ground floor of Chapter and are fully accessible to wheelchair users. Disabled parking is available at the front and rear of the building and disabled toilet facilities are also available on the ground floor. Please phone us on 029 2034 1667 if you require any assistance.
