Bi Nam – Image and Identity in Iran

(c) Raoofe Roostami

3 – 31 October 2012

Unit 40a, Queens Arcade, Cardiff (next to New Look on Queen Street Level)

Opening times: Weds – Sat, 11 – 6 / Sun, 11 – 5

Continuing throughout October as part of the Cardiff Contemporary initiative, Ffotogallery will be re-presenting the exhibition Bi Nam in an empty shop unit in Queens Arcade, central Cardiff.

Bi Nam, shown for three weeks at Turner House in Spring 2012, is the first exhibition in the UK representing the work of a group of contemporary Iranian photographers. The photographic and video content of the exhibition explores the cultural and social life of modern Iran, with an emphasis on religion, gender and identity.

This is a unique opportunity to show a reconfiguration of this important collection of work again, alongside other exciting presentations of contemporary art in Cardiff such as Artes Mundi, Outcasting: Fourth Wall, Made in Roath, Arcade Cardiff, g39 and other pop-up exhibitions and events happening throughout October.

For more information about Bi Nam, see our exhibition archive page.

Join us for a lunchtime talk on Thursday 25 October.
