October 2010 | Book Arts Fayre

Ffotogallery’s Book Arts Fayres are now in their 3rd year of running, and celebrate the ‘artists book’ in all its forms, from hand printed zines to hardback monographs. They provide everyone from artists to students, graduates and families the chance to explore and participate in self-publishing with a wealth of stalls showcasing contemporary book arts and print practice from Wales and beyond.

Whether visitors are meeting sellers and makers from all over the UK and Europe; discovering new books and zines from photographers, artists and printmakers or browsing the range of hand-made arty ephemera and cakes–our awesome fayre’s continue to be great day out leaving everyone inspired to get creative!

At BAF 5 in October 2010 we were really excited to have had Salford Zine Library exhibit a selection of their vast 1400 strong archive of donated zines and artist books, which they receive from all over the world. Sarah Trigg, of Trigger Editions also hosted a drop-in paper-making workshop for all the family as a part of her stall. An archive of contributors and pictures of all 5 BAFs can be found on our dedicated BAF blog. Look out for BAF6, coming this Autumn.

BAF is also proud to have featured works by: groups like The Book Room, InterCity MainLine, Parlour Press, Cardiff Print Workshop and G39
: artists such as Eleanor Jane Parsons, Tamany Baker, Henry Ireland, Kathrin Ollroge and Sam Hasler
: independent publishers like DoublePlusGood Books, Hazard Press, Asemota & Eotla, Preston is my Paris and Berlin-based PogoBooks
