A practical course for beginners which introduces you to shooting and editing your own digital video. Learn how to get the best results from your video camera, and discover what makes moving images successful, through a combination of practical seminars, creative exercises, film screenings and group discussion. Over five sessions you will learn the fundamentals of video production and editing using Apple Final Cut Pro, to produce your own short fiction or documentary film. Suitable for absolute beginners or for individuals with some prior experience wishing to develop their skills, the course covers basic technical skills such as camera operation and software editing and will develop your understanding of cinematic language, help you to develop an idea visually and narratively and to plan a shoot.
You will need your own video camera to do the course (this can include a Mobile Phone or DSLR with video function or Flip camera).
