Business Manager (4 days/28 hours per week)

Ffotogallery is embarking on an ambitious development programme over the next three years which includes delivery of the third edition of Diffusion: Cardiff International Festival of Photography in 2017 and a series of exhibition, learning, artist residency and publishing projects with national and international partners. With Arts Council of Wales’ support, we are also undertaking a business development programme to determine the optimum financial and operational model for the organisation in order to ensure long-term resilience and sustainability. This work will lay the foundations for a new centre for photography and lens-based media in Cardiff, and build on our already high reputation as the national agency for photography and lens-based media in Wales.

The Business Manager is critical to delivery of this programme, being responsible for efficient management and operation of financial and office systems, prudent financial management and involvement in fundraising and business development and overseeing company communications and administration.

Salary is £24,000, for 28 hours per week/4 days (£30,000 pro rata). The post is for one-year initially, subject to review.

Ffotogallery adopts an inclusive and broad approach to equality and diversity – and we welcome applications from individuals with the protected characteristics covered by the Equality Act 2010.

Volunteer Opportunities

Would you like to get involved with Ffotogallery?

“Volunteering for Ffotogallery has been amazing. It gave me hands-on experience working in an art gallery, an opportunity to meet some great people and interact with artists, and it’s also been a lot of fun!” Zosia Krasnowolska, July 2013

“Being a volunteer at Ffotogallery has given me a huge amount of confidence and fantastic opportunities to work first hand with established artists, letting me gain invaluable experience in editing and hanging a successful show. I’ve also been able to contribute to the media and written content of the website which is great for my professional work going forward.” Luke Boland, July 2013

We offer voluntary gallery placements enabling people to gain valuable experience in working both front of house, enhancing the visitor experience; and ‘behind the scenes’, assisting with delivery of the programme. Volunteers also have the opportunity to bring new ideas to the programme and get involved in education activities, exhibitions, marketing and events.

All Ffotogallery volunteers receive free darkroom membership including benefits such as a 25% discount on Ffotogallery publications, use of our specialist photographic library and free access to our darkroom facilities in Chapter Arts Centre.
