In 2009, Pupils from Allensbank Primary School had the unique opportunity to work with Ffotogallery on making their award winning school poems into short films. 10 pupils were able to spend time learning practical digital video techniques using Ffotogallery’s digital darkroom, and planned a shortfilm project from storybord to final film.
This workshop programme concentrated on delivering visual literacy training whilst each child also gained valuable experience of the practical filmmaking process.
The outcome of the workshop was a series of short films, a selection of which can be viewed online - follow the link below.
The project was made possible through the ArtsMark scheme; a national award scheme that recognises schools with a high level of provision in the arts. By gaining an ArtsMark, a school will demonstrate its commitment to the wider development of young people and teachers, and to raising the profile of the arts within the school and within the local community.
If your school is interested in learning digital video skills, please contact our Education Team on 029 2066 8695 or at education [at] ffotogallery.org for prices and availability.
