KS4 Digital Workshops

Pupils from Stanwell School in Penarth had the unique opportunity to work with Ffotogallery, in pilot workshop programme that aims to promote the use of digital media in the GCSE and A Level syllabus.

In this inspirational workshop, pupils from Stanwell School in Penarth were invited to spend the day with Ffotogallery’s education team at Turner House, to explore the implementation of creative photography and digital imaging, into their GCSE coursework. Pupils were invited to discuss the current exhibition and examine the impact of photography and digital imaging in contemporary society. Pupils were then encouraged to discuss their own work with Ffotogallery staff, and consider how they might incorporate digital techniques into their portfolios. Pupils were able to spend time learning practical digital imaging techniques using Ffotogallery’s digital darkroom, and create a piece of digital artwork, based on drawings and paintings they had scanned into a digital format. The outcome of the workshop was a thoughtful sequence of digital images, which dovetailed directly into the GCSE curriculum.

If your school is interested in taking part in the KS4 Digital Workshop programme, please contact the Education Team on 029 2066 8695 or at education [at] ffotogallery.org for prices and availability.
