Memories in Motion - Audrey Albert at Manchester School of Art
Belongers may be over here at Ffotogallery, but the journey continues with Audrey Albert's work featuring as part of "Moving Images: Audiovisual Representations of Migration and Migrants" event up in Manchester later this month. Through screenings and discussions - hosted by the Arts & Humanities Department of Art & Performance at Manchester School of Art - this 1-day event explores the ethics and aesthetics of audiovisual representations of migration and migrants.
Bringing together academics, artists, practitioners, activists, and community members, this event will showcase diverse audiovisual works created by and with migrants. Via a combination of screenings and panel discussions, the event will explore the ethics and aesthetics of creating and presenting audiovisual representations of migration and migrants.
As part of the panel discussion “Memories in motion - narrating the past in the present” - Audrey Albert (Manchester Metropolitan University) will be discussing her work ’Sea Walkers: A Conversation with Granper Yam and Granmer Philine’ which was exhibited as part of her exhibition here at Ffotogallery.
