Beyond Incarceration: Tudor Etchells

Ffotogallery's curator Cynthia Sitei joins Tudor Etchells in discussion about his recent written paper examining Edgar Martins' project 'What Photography & Incarceration have in Common with an Empty Vase', and the role of photography in challenging the notion of prison.

Tudor Etchells is a photographic artist, documentarian, educator and researcher.

He is interested in the role the image plays in perpetuating norms of borders, and how the photograph/er can move beyond the current status quo. His practice is influenced by his day job as an immigration and asylum lawyer in South Wales and Bristol.
