Wednesday 8 July, 6:00–8:00pm
Ffotogallery, Cardiff
Join photographer Michal Iwanowski and Ffotogallery Creative Director Bob Gelsthorpe for a conversation exploring the future of photography organisations and the communities they serve.
Together, they will discuss belonging, identity, creative migration, and the role institutions play in supporting photographers throughout their careers. Drawing on personal experiences and broader perspectives on photographic practice in Wales and beyond, the discussion will ask: What kinds of organisations do photographers need today, and what might they need in the future?
Hosted by Anemone Gerber, Curatorial Resident at Ffotogallery, this event forms part of a research project for Ffotogallery’s 50th-anniversary publication in 2028, examining how photography organisations can continue to support artists, communities, and creative practice in the decades ahead.
The event is open to everyone, with a particular welcome extended to volunteers, photographers, artists, and anyone interested in the future of creative communities.
