Announcing the 2025 Ffocws artists
Launched in 2022, Ffocws is Ffotogallery’s annual development programme for graduates and emerging artists, consisting of mentoring and presentation of work. Maisie Avis, Xristina Castro, Tara Cochran, Abid Hussain, Bedwyr Meredydd and Tamsin Sterling have been selected for this opportunity this year, and will present their work in Ffotogallery’s Project Space in a new exhibition opening with a public preview 5th March 2026.
Ffocws is part of Ffotogallery’s mission to support early-career visual artists in Wales, for those who have been through formal education, and those who have had other paths into photography. Artists have been selected following an open call that invited recent graduates and emerging artists who have been through other forms of education, as well as nominations from various course leaders across Wales. Ffocws is generously supported by the Ashley Family Foundation and the Grocers’ Charity
Siân Addicott, Director at Ffotogallery, said: “We’re delighted to present this remarkable group of emerging photographers and artists at Ffotogallery. The range of subjects, methods, and distinctive artistic perspectives highlights the vibrant photographic creativity thriving throughout Wales. Now in its fourth edition, Ffocws will continue to provide essential, personalised career support and networking opportunities to guide these artists through the pivotal early stages of their professional development.”
