We are pleased to announce the acquisition of Holly Davey’s In Plain Sight (Miss Jenkins? – after Richard Wilson), 2024, by National Museum Wales.
Part of Holly’s wider exploration of visibility, constructed identities and feminist re-readings of art history, the work draws upon Richard Wilson’s portrait Miss Jenkins to examine the relationships between photography, performance and representation.
Through carefully staged composition and subtle acts of intervention, Holly repositions historical imagery within a contemporary context, inviting renewed consideration of authorship, gender and absence within the canon.
We are delighted to see the work become part of the national collection.
