Become an Access Support Facilitator at Ffoto Cymru 2026
If you’re interested in arts, culture, education or community work and are keen to make a social change, this opportunity might be for you. Ffotogallery is looking for six motivated Access Support Facilitators to help make the festival accessible, inclusive and welcoming to a wide range of audiences, making sure all visitors, especially those with access needs, can fully take part and feel welcome.
Key responsibilities & duties
Attend training on accessibility, inclusive practice and audience care.
Support accessible events such as: BSL-supported tours, Audio-described tours, Relaxed events, Tactile sessions.
Welcome visitors and provide clear, friendly support.
Work with staff and artists to ensure events are accessible.
Gather visitor feedback to help improve future festivals.
Work as part of a team to provide consistent support across venues.
The ideal candidates will:
Be interested in accessibility and inclusion
Communicate clearly and confidently with others
Work well in a team
Be reliable and professional
Be open to learning and improving their practice
You do not need to be studying a ‘creative’ subject.
Travel
This role involves working across festival venues and requires in-person attendance. Travel costs for regular commuting are not covered. Reasonable expenses will be reimbursed where travel beyond your usual commute is required. The role may be best suited to applicants based within travelling distance of Cardiff or Swansea. Training and Professional Development
You will receive training from Disability Arts Cymru and Ffotogallery, and then support the delivery of accessible events and activities across the festival.
Disability Access and Inclusion training delivered by Disability Arts Cymru (DAC), The lead organisation for Disability Arts in Wales. This will focus on the Social Model of Disability, - the power of words, the Equality Act 2010
Exhibition installation and curation
Exhibition Guiding and interpretation
Multi-sensory interpretation
Time, pay, and location
Commitment: from September 2026 until January 2027, flexible (includes training and event support), 107 hours in total per student.
Working hours: 15-20 hours a week, (split over 3 days) would be ideal. Preferred days Wednesday-Saturday with some evening work, however Ffotogallery is flexible and will aim to agree the schedule together.
Pay: £13.45/h, including attendance at training.
Location: Multiple locations in central Cardiff, Cathays, Cardiff Bay, Swansea and surrounding areas.
