Living on the Edge brings together four photographic series made across Nigeria and The Gambia, exploring how communities are living with environmental change. From forests cleared for farming to landscapes reshaped by mining, and from home gardens to rice fields affected by saltwater intrusion, the work traces how one environmental change can lead to another.
Rather than presenting these stories as isolated issues, the exhibition reveals their connections, showing how decisions made in one place can have consequences far beyond it.
The project explores the realities of environmental change alongside the resilience and adaptation of the people living through it. Living on the Edge invites viewers to reflect on the relationship between people and the environment, and on the shared responsibility of caring for the landscapes that sustain us.
About the Artist:

Bukunmi Oyewole is a photographer who uses his art for cultural appreciation and to broaden people's perspectives about cultures from around the world. He uses his art as a tool for promoting social change and development. Through his photography, he also uses his art to bring attention to climate change issues and to create awareness and engagement with the public about the impacts of climate change.
