Biennials Connect Grant: Foto Féminas

We’re delighted to have been awarded a grant from the British Council’s Biennials Connect fund!

The grant will support our collaboration with Foto Féminas and the commissioning of two female / non-binary artists - Luiza Possamai Kons and Julieta Anaut. Their work will be exhibited as part of Ffoto Cymru: Wales International Festival of Photography, which will take place at venues across Wales in October 2024. The Foto Féminas network provides a platform to increase the visibility of Latin American and Caribbean female/non-binary photographers.

We will also programme a series of online sessions for artistic professional development, building cross-cultural links and exchange between networks, as well as international travel and accommodation for in-person artist talks at Ffotogallery in Cardiff during the festival month.

About the artists:

Julieta Anaut (b. 1983) is an Argentinian, award-winning visual artist from Rio Negro, Patagonia. She is a graduate from Instituto Universitario Patagónico de las Artes (LUPA) and a Specialist in Combined Artistic Languages at Universidad Nacional de las Artes (UNA). Her visual and audio-visual works have been exhibited in museums, cultural venues, and film festivals across the globe.
