A New Year message from our Director

With the new year underway, I’d like to take this opportunity to say a big thank you to everyone who visited Ffotogallery, attended one of our events (in person or online) and otherwise supported us in 2022, and of course to the team who made it all possible.

Looking ahead in 2023, we have a series of community events and talks alongside our current exhibition We Are Here, Because You Were There. We will also soon be starting our new Ffocws professional development programme with talks, workshops and mentoring - made possible through funding from the Ashley Family Foundation.

We are also thrilled to have been awarded a grant from Art Fund’s ‘Reimagine’ programme, which over the next two years will support a series of gallery takeovers to test out and challenge the limits of photography within the ‘institution’ of our gallery space.

Since taking over the role in April, it has been great to be part of so many conversations about photography in Wales, and to hear so many amazing ideas about what Ffotogallery’s future might look like. Your enthusiasm for photography is inspiring! I hope to keep these conversations going, don’t hesitate to get in touch if you have an idea or project to discuss.

Wishing everyone a healthy and happy 2023,

Siân
