Ffotogallery Has a New Home

We have some very exciting news to share with you - Ffotogallery has a new home. As of the 4 June 2019, the Former Methodist Sunday School on Fanny Street in Cathays, Cardiff has become the new long-term home for Ffotogallery, the national photography agency for Wales.

A ten year lease has been signed and we are settling in to life in the new space. We are currently preparing to move our office, library and archive, production facilities and educational resources into the building. An initial fit out of the new exhibition and event spaces, community cafe and bookshop will take place over the next six months, with full opening in late 2019/early 2020. We will then develop a longer term plan and fundraising campaign to maximise use of the space to position our work at the forefront of new developments in production, presentation and learning in photographic, digital and lens-based media. The ambition is not simply to create a home for Ffotogallery, but a home for photography in Wales.

It has been a long road, but we are delighted with the outcome. It provides a wonderful platform for the next ten years, Ffotogallery having celebrated its 40th anniversary in 2018, and successfully delivered the fourth biennial edition of Diffusion: Cardiff International Festival of Photography in April 2019 .

We are looking forward to Ffotogallery being situated at the heart of the city's cultural life, based in a vibrant, multicultural community. Our aim is to build on established partnerships - local, national and international - and develop new relationships with a wide range of arts, creative industry, education and community organisations in delivery of our future programme.
