We’re Hiring: Learning and Engagement Manager
We are looking for a Learning and Engagement Manager to join our ambitious and dynamic team at a particularly exciting time; this year we launch a season of culturally diverse exhibitions and engagement activities at our new centre in Cardiff and online using a variety of different platforms. We will be touring Ffotogallery exhibitions, creating online content, and delivering the fifth edition of Diffusion: Cardiff International Festival of Photography, which takes place every other year, in Autumn 2021.

Where’s my space? – Ffotogallery & PAWA254
Where’s My Space? is a collaborative digital project that has brought together two organisations from Kenya and Wales, PAWA254 and Ffotogallery Wales, to create a virtual gathering place, or ‘Base Noma’ (to use a Kenyan expression) where young creatives from the partner countries can come together, show and tell, showcase their work to online audiences and share their ideas and lived experiences. The project is an opportunity for two dynamic cultural organisations to co-design and develop a unique online space for visual storytelling, working with emerging Kenyan and Welsh visual artists, musicians, poets and storytellers as the creative team.
This project has been made possible by the Go Digital Sub-Saharan Africa – Wales Grant awarded by British Council Wales.

Book of the month – Daniel Meadows: Edited Photographs from the 70s and 80s
With an insightful view of the culture and fashions of the age, this book Illuminates a remarkable period in British photography when everything seemed new, and gloriously possible. Writer and curator Val Williams has written a fascinating text placing Meadows’ work in the context of contemporary culture.
Daniel Meadows: Edited Photographs from the 70s and 80s was published to accompany the exhibition Daniel Meadows: Early Photographic Work, curated by Val Williams and shown at the National Media Museum in 2011/12, and which later toured to Ffotogallery.

Ffotogallery’s touring exhibition Land/Sea by Mike Perry is due to open at Thelma Hulbert Gallery in Honiton, Devon from 20 May. The exhibition brings together two of Perry’s recent projects, Wet Deserts and Môr Plastig.

Art by Post brings free poetry and visual arts activities to the people who are most isolated by the current social distancing measures. Southbank Centre have commissioned artists to design the booklets, which are inspired by their art collection and artistic programme.
Children’s After School Book Club
Chapter from Home presents a series of short weekly after-school sessions aimed at Key Stage 1 children, with actor and nanny Sophie Warren. Each book is carefully chosen to fit a weekly theme (climate change, wellbeing, religion, gender pronouns, learning disabilities).
